I was a solo traveler on a group trip hosted by a friend from high school, and it ended up being such a great experience. I joined him and 24 of his friends in Croatia for Yacht Week. Most of them were complete strangers to me but a few people were familiar with each other.
A week of new friendships, late nights, beautiful water, crying laughing, and reminders that some of the best experiences happen when you say yes before you have all the details figured out.
So when I say I understand how scary it can feel to join a group trip as a solo traveler, I mean it. Walking into a group where everyone might already know someone can feel intimidating. But once the trip begins, titles like "solo traveler" and "stranger" start disappearing. You share meals, experiences, inside jokes, and stories. By the end, you're exchanging numbers and trying to figure out when everyone can travel together again.
The connections are unmatched.
I would never ask someone to take a chance that I wasn't willing to take myself. I showed up alone, but I never felt alone.
This is the beginning of my Summer Travel Adventure Series… next up, South Korea! 🇰🇷
Two more small-group trips are already on the calendar. Come find your people.
Y'all always tell me, "Don't forget to tell me about the next trip." Well… this is how I do it. My travel community gets the drop first. New trips, the best pricing, and first dibs before I tell the rest of the internet. Don't be the one in my DMs talking about, "I missed it."
